" giving in to pressure" ;D OK, so here are the "small" mammals and I took another "version" of my prehistoric birds collection. From the Kaiyodo, UHA series: Look how nice the bronto and arsino fits together ;D The bronto is a gift from tomhet [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307400.jpg" Truly wonderful little figures. I don't have many of them unfortunately. From the Australian Yowie: Fossil whale # 29, hoterossbunodon #26, and murgon songbird #28. They are all from series B. The Yowie figures, although not as nicely done as the kaiyodos, are really cool figures. Many are odd species never before released as toy figures. I just wish they were more easier to acquire; they are harder than kaiyodos! I got mine from Piltdown when he was selling most of his collection. Not too long ago another collector, aang, was selling a complete sets for $60. Maybe one day I'll be able to acquire more, for now these figures and a few dinosaurs, all from Alvin are all I got. [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307408.jpg" Look sbell! I do have the small Safari prehistoric toob set! ;D I just misplaced them. I wonder why they did not release a "bigger" macreuchenia, it is the only one from the set that was not in the original WS release. [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307413.jpg" For CCM, here is a better picture of all my known prehistoric birds ;D Wow, the group is really not very well represented in any toy line especially the bigger figures. The only "big" one is the Bullyland Diatryma. Dodo, really a cool bird and not "really prehistoric" but what ever, I have are from Papo, Safari, and you all remember the primeval figures. Archaeopteryx from Bullyland ( two versions, I have the newer one) and UHA. The Titanis is from the Kaiyodo series, I have both version. Hesperornis is from the primeval series [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307402.jpg" So there you have it, I think that is all I have ;D Sbell, I'm sure your collection is very impressive. And knowing how hard it is to find prehistoric mammals, I more curios to see your collection. I wish you would share photos of your collection. The one you did is too far to really see the figures. That way you can have the pleasure of seeing me and Theri drool and have a heart attack! ;D ;D ;D Oh, I almost forgot, one very "valuable fish" ;D ;D ;D ;D [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307416.jpg" Nah, not really a fish but a prehistoric marine reptile, an ichtyo from the Starlux series. I just added it for sbell since he "mocked' me ;D

Finally! *Bows down to boki's collection* It's so beautiful it makes me want to cry. The Machrauchenia in the unknown pic is from Ja-Ru, as is the Uintathere. Quick question- does anyone know the complete list of PV big and small mammals? Thanks! I have the PV list! Because I have most of them. In the small set there are: Smilodon (actually Homotherium), Andrewsarchus, Ursus spelaeus, Eobasileus, Palorchestes, Prorastomus, Mammuthus, Megatherium In the big set, there are Smilodon, Andrewsarchus, Eobasileus and Palorchestes. Don't ask me why, out of all the mammals they could have used from the book--a Simon & Schuster Encyclopedia, with images that have been reused for almost 15 years now--they chose an odd marsupial tapir. And there was a comment on money? As it is, I have been collecting for about 18 years. So I occasionally came across many things when they were still widely available. Other things have been through trades, often because of serendipitous purchase of large quantities of stuff a long time ago (like the small PV mammals, or more recently the Chick Yuet mammals). Yah. many more PV mammals to acquire ... if you have the mulah$! ;D The are all proving to be so hard to find and very expensive especially the large figures. Unfortunately Theri, the PV figures are hard to find even on ebay ( believe me, I have the patience to look at all the listings ;D). They are rarely offered, the large mammals I only found once (Demarxo was the seller surprise surprise ) about a year ago and have not seen them since. Maybe sbell have some duplicates he would like to trade, hmmmm?

Sorry, I think I am right out of PV doubles. I have been carrying some of them around for over ten years now, and I now have only one complete set of small ones. The only large one I am missing is the Palorchestes, yet I do not feel incomplete.
Good luck finding them--they occasionally pop up in random large lots on eBay (just like dinos) but not often.

BAH! once more, for some reason, I can not see your images. *kicks computer lightly*
"For CCM, here is a better picture of all my known prehistoric birds Wow, the group is really not very well represented in any toy line especially the bigger figures. The only "big" one is the Bullyland Diatryma."
Well, if you get the Aroura "giant bird" model kit, you can get a decent sized terror bird with movable limbs and mouth! (in scale with most of mid sized the prehistoric mammal fugres to boot!)
"Dodo, really a cool bird and not "really prehistoric" but what ever, I have are from Papo, Safari, and you all remember the primeval figures.Archaeopteryx from Bullyland ( two versions, I have the newer one) and UHA. The Titanis is from the Kaiyodo series, I have both version. Hesperornis is from the primeval series"
I have all those figures as well, except the primeval figures. I felt the need to customize my bullyland Archaeopteryx (the old blue one) a little and give the Diatryma a complete make over. Kaiyodo also made a Diatryma figure. Those primeval figures are on my wishlist.
I also have some birds I lump under prehistoric birds like a small turaco figure, and some others like that who have likely not changed much (if at all) for a very long time. Storks and Ibis too can stand in for extinct representatives of the species. I love the yowie figures and have all of the prehistoric ones, almost all of the extinct ones, and am still after a few of the birds/reptiles .

But it seems like you already have all of the figures I have Yes, the Yowie figures are cool and the prehistoric set is on my wish list ;D Good luck with the Primeval figures, I got mine from the UK and already sold my extras a few months ago.

;D Well the Dodo Bird isn't prehistoric but it is extinct. Maybe the polar bear will be next?

/\ Well, there's still some cryptozoological discussions about the continued survival of the Dodo on other Masacrene islands. Who knows, maybe there's still some left! As for the polar bear, I wouldn't hold my breath for its extinction, it was only recently put on the threatened species list.

"Well the Dodo Bird isn't prehistoric but it is extinct. Maybe the polar bear will be next?" Yowies did a series like that called the "Forgotten Friends" - It had creatures like the Atlas bear and Bluebuck, and the Steller's Sea Cow as well as many others. A fantastic series. I like the Dodo, Ivory Bill Woodpecker, Great Auk and Passenger Pigeon and the Quagga figures the best out of that line, but they are all very nice. (I am missing a few of the figures still - the Cuban Red macaw, Bluebuck, Syrian Wild Donkey, Huia and the Labrador Duck) Kayodo did Red List species as well, and a dodo skeleton was the special figure. I do not have these figures but would love to get the Dodo skeleton, Cali Condor, Bannerman's Turaco, Alligator Snapping turtle and Atlantic Right Whale figures from it. "I wouldn't hold my breath for its extinction, it was only recently put on the threatened species list." While I hope we do not loose the polar bear, the endangered species list in this country is a joke. www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/11/bush-administration-weake_0_n_150429.htmlIt used to have more backing but in the past 8 years its become a disaster. I would say that the Polar bear only being threatened has much more to do with things like land use and politics then it does with the actual state of the polar bear populations. That said there are MANY HUNDREDS of species in worse shape and closer to extinction then the Polar Bear...there are a fair number of species only left alive in captive breeding programs too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_endangered_animal_specieswww.guardian.co.uk/environment/gallery/2008/oct/06/endangeredspecies.conservation?picture=338256771

I have been searching for that set for a while now! If you look at my very last picture on the mammals, the customized figures, those were inspired by the quagga from that set ;D i would love to get them someday if I can find them. They are small, yes?

For those looking for Yowies, I know someone. Which is why I have the Quagga, Thylacine, Aurochs, Bluebuck, etc. (I picked and chose).
I will get in touch with her and see if it is okay to release her email to you guys--her costs are reasonable (although of course postage from Australia is a little nuts).
And to drive you all crazy--there is another set that is even harder to find of recently extinct animals. Made by Club Earth, there were 3 blister cards of 3 (Cape Lion, Mexican Silver Grizzly, Toolache Wallaby, Great Auk, Quagga, Aurochs, Thylacine, Dodo, Steller's Sea Cow). Good figures, similar in form to the Play Visions small stuff There used to be a guy that seemed to have a never-ending supply of them on ebay, but of course that was 4 years ago. Most recently, a set of 8 (missing the wallaby) sold on ebay for over $50.
And someday when I have time I will take my photos on rework them into composites so that I don't take up the entire bandwidth of the forum--every figure I have (or in some cases had) is photo'd and catalogued. As it is, a quick query tells me that there are 232 different figures of prehistoric or recently extinct mammals (different meaning different manufacturers, and sometimes different colour schemes). If I add birds, it goes up to 259.
So it will take me a while to get these guys in a more useful photo form. But if anyone want to see the list, I can always send it (as a notepad or excel file) via email. I won't include the photos though--I am thinking that would require a CD-Rom, and I am not about to do that.

No wonder you regularly contribute photos to PT and Randy's site ;D Man, so do you like photograph your new figures as you get them? You must, it would be overwhelming to take pictures of individual figures all at once ;D I was thinking of the Club Earth figures, now that you mentioned it. Wow, I would love to get a hold of some of those figures $50 for a set? How long ago? I would have gotten it if I have known and seen it Let me know if you see one for sale again Love to see your figures Theri ;D See, you have something I don't have and they are mammals ;D
