Pango,
Yeah they only gave me eight pages to do my stuff for this issue. The publisher is a very nice man who likes Age of Reptiles very much, and he felt that this eight-pager would be a good way for AOR to stay in the public light while I continue work on the next series, which at this point figures to be published sometime next year. Was inking page 2 of issue two last night while watching Indy and the Last Crusade. To be specific, the pteros in the story are generic cuzz they have only found fragments in that formation. Everyone else is supposed to be there, and had to dig to get the paper that included the Acros and Dienonychus. Kudos to Don Glut for his help on that detail.
May the Force be with you, always.

Mr Delgado,
Will these newest issues be available in a collection eventually? I don't have access to purchasing Dark Horse comics at the moment and I really, really don't wanna miss out.

The Journey for the moment is only available individually or in the trade paperback collection. As far as Ancient Egyptians goes, I think there's a good chance that series will be part of a single collection. Hope that helps, Krissy. If anyone's having trouble ordering the new story, please let me know. I think there's an 800 number that one can call and get a copy sent to your home.

Pango,
I'd rather be a little coy about certain elements of the story for the sake of not revealing a surprise before its time, but Ancient Egyptians is set at and during the Baharija Formation, so you can draw some nifty conclusions from that morsel. I'm having fun, and hopefully everyone will enjoy flipping through the pages.

Ancient Egyptians is set at and during the Baharija Formation HaHA! For some reason I was thinking of literal ancient egyptians. No need to tell me more then, that is exciting enough... Ever think of doing a comic based on the Permian era?

I'm going to do an ocean-based story, as well as diving into each of the different eras eventually. I've always wanted to tell the story of the journey of primitive man's journey over the behring straight (I butchered the spelling there, I know) as well, but I can't call it age of reptiles then, can I, lol! My favorite title: Age of Reptiles: Age of Mammals! My wife always rolls her eyes over that one, lol.
My point is that I'm in this for the long haul and there are plenty of AOR stories to come in the future. Lemme get this African story out though.
Also, there's a glaring color error that I missed on one of the Acros in the Body. Can anyone spot it? My eye went straight to it and I said, "Aw crap!"

I was wondering today about printing up some of the images from the 1999 calender and selling them as an inexpensive portfolio. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

I'd be interested (if only i had some money... Well, that's another story!)... Anyway, can i ask you just one thing? There's a remote possibility that you'll be a guest of Lucca Comics & Games (basically the biggest geek/nerd convention here in Italy) this year or eventually next year(s)? I'd like to meet you in person, plus it would be really nice, for once, to have something dinosaur-related in that fair (last year there was James Gurney but i didn't manage to get there to meet him, grrrr)

I'd defintely buy a portfolio. My copy of Dark Horse Presents 4 arrived today. Didn't read any of it apart from the AoR strip. ;D It was awesome, I love the mottled coloration of the Arcocanthosaurs and Deinoychus'. Just a shame it had to end so soon.

Would love to attend if I was asked, but not too many people know about my comic, so I don't get the kind of invitations to attend conventions that other artists get.
Everyone,
As far as the other posters go with regard to the portfolio idea, I think I'm going to run with it. There's also some unpublished stuff that I might include in there, so long as it does not detract from the story I have in progress.Krissy,
Thanks for buying my dumb comic. May the Force be with you. The third panel on the first page has a glaring mistake where the black leopard Acro's left leg is colored like on of the other, lighter Acros. Sigh. Oh well.

I just got your dumb Cryolophosaur print on ebay. In fact it is so dumb that I am framing it and putting it up with the rest of my dumb comics on the wall. And when you publish some set of dumb art from forever ago, I will purchase it and add it to my dumb collection. Stay dumb friend, cause I love your dumb comics and dumb artwork. And if ever in doubt, fly casual.

Pango,
lol, thanks for buying my dumb Cryolophosaur print, which is labeled Crylophosaurus even though I asked for the dumb spelling to be corrected after the test run of the print. Big laugh from me as I ink a Boar Croc panel on my dumb page 2.

Update on portfolio idea: Yes, it sure looks like I'm going to put this portfolio thing together and self-publish it, to be released next year sometime. Again it would be stuff that was part of the 1999 calender, but with a few unpublished images as well. More updates to come as it begins to come together. Dark Horse won't be publishing this, I will. Portfolios don't sell anymore, so I'm doing this as more of a small-press thing than a moneymaker. Dark Horse loves the books and we have a great relationship, so I'm grateful that they are allowing me to expand the brand without interfering with the publication of the books.
More announcements as publication gets closer.

Nah, I'm just going to do a run of prints and see what happens, either 500 or a thousand sets. Dan's Dinosaurs has kindly stepped forward to offer a distribution possibility, and I'm flattered that he would even consider something like that. So I'll keep everyone posted here on this thread as things come closer to reality.
Nah to the sculpting, at least in the near future. I'm a drawing guy.
