Good one Richard; Kudos to you. It puts a new spin on Thanksgiving (LOL)

I thought those were turkeys I can grant this--we have evidence of feather-bearing quill knobs on the humeri of velociraptors. Why some artists then proceed to turn them into glorified thanksgiving meals is beyond me. Why not just a fringe of display/brooding feathers around the arms, and maybe a crest on the tail and/or head? Or just a fine, feathery fuzz (like the Mononykus on Chased by Dinosaurs)? And why are they getting waddles and such things? Most living birds--in particular, ratites which are a good model--have no such extraneous globs of flesh.

Luis Rey added the globs of flesh becasue Tomhet asked him to.

I thought those were turkeys You should really get your eyes checked. You probably also think humans look like bears. BUT, another under-rated dino fig is a carnotaurus figure that I bought at KBtoys for $3. It is easily the most accurate carnotaur ever.

the problem with these feathered guys is that they don't look like dinosaurs with feathers... they look like turkeys with teeth. Pathetic drawing; this almost makes me go back and discuss about feathered dinosaurs, artists should try harder

Pathetic drawing; this almost makes me go back and discuss about feathered dinosaurs, artists should try harder To be honest, there have been discussions not only about feathered dinos (and scientific accuracy, etc), but also about how far-fetched some artists/reconstructions can get. As the current illustration by Luis Rey demonstrates, he is among the most insane offenders (there are others). Not only does he turk-ify many raptors (at least they probably had some sort of feather-like covering) but he will go way off base--I know he is responsible for feathered ceratopsians, and I think that he may have inflicted feathered sauropods upon us all as well.

TOTALLY AGREE. Luis Rey's "Raptors"...Puah And the new Bullyland Raptor...Double Puah

the problem with these feathered guys is that they don't look like dinosaurs with feathers... they look like turkeys with teeth. They look like birds with teeth? That's weird. THEY ARE. Get over it. Birds, not dinosaurs. Science marches on. All birds are dinosaurs. Some dinosaurs are birds. Raptors are birds just as much as Hesperornis is. A turkey is a dinosaur just as much as Velociraptor is. P.S. I think Rey's stuff is a little too out there... but just because they look weird and unnatural at times. I prefer this guy: www.studioschouten.com.au/dinosaurs.aspLooks like real wildlife art, despite some inaccuracies.

dinosaurs are dinosaurs and birds are birds... that dinosaurs had feathers doesn't mean they were birds, if they share common caracteristics they don't have to be the same...

Please feel free to create a new thread to discuss this, or go to an existing feathered dinosaurs thread. Some of them are outdated, but they get the appreciation they deserve I think...they have a naturalness to them that is absent in most other lines. If they were still around, I'd love to see Invicta do a feathered dinosaur.
