For what it's worth I'll watch the show and see how it goes. The involvment of Spielberg is encouraging, the involvment of Horner not so much (he never seems to do a Dinosaur media project without some sort of publicilty-seeking stunt).
Who knows how it'll turn out? When it eventually comes out over here in the UK I'll see for myself.

When will this air Pacific time and which channel? I'm too lazy to look it up, momma.

Pretty sure we'll see some anachronistic animals. Well with Horner being involved, I have high hopes that it won't, but eventually they might not be able to resist and put T.Rex in there.

Hopefully if they do they'll say something like " OMG, tyrannosaurs aren't supposed to be here, how little we knew!".

;D Why is there a Terra Nova (TV show and also TV series) thread going on at the same time?

If Horner's on board T.rex won't be portrayed in a flattering light. He really seems to have an agenda going on there.

Excited to see it tonight! Accuracy... meh. I don't care that much. It's going to be a fun adventure is all I hope for.

I'll have to wait for this one to show up on Hulu, but I do look forward to it. I guess the cost of procrastination is missing things like this.

This show is such an avatar ripoff. The vehicles, characters, environments, all way too similar, except at least avatar was developed by somebody who knew stuff about engineering and whatnot, so all the vehicles etc. were practically designed. That N the fact that the carnotaurus was bigger than a trex makes me dislike this show.

I haven't watched it yet but I'm perplexed by your statement. Are you saying a piece of Science Fiction depicting future technology on an Alien world is a rip off of another piece of Science Fiction depicting future technology on an Alien world? Avatar truly is the standard by which all future Sci Fi programs will be measured isn't it. Avatar was a rip off too. A rip off of "Dances with Wolves", "Pocahontas", "The Last Samurai", "The Lord of the Rings" etc. etc.. I think it is unfair to compare the two on the basis that it takes place in a far flung world with future technology.

Guys, I have to say: I loved this. Just the right amount of sci-fi, JP and even a little Dinotopia mystery involved. Aaaah! Slashers, what dino was that based on? Dad and I were trying to figure it out but coming up blank. Any ideas?
Also, the Carnotaurus was fantastic. I liked the size. Seemed just right and not at all too big in my mind. And, I'd like to know: Maddy Shannon (the middle child) said something about the Brachs probably supplementing their leaf-twig-browsing diets with small lizards because of the placement of some incisors. I've never heard of this idea before. Is it a new thought or something? I'm just a little curious is all.
Anyway I thought it was fantastic. It pushed all the right buttons for me. <3

I was almost right on the "Slasher". My first thoughts were of a Oviraptor (I was looking at the crest not the body) or Dilophosaurus but apparently it is modeled after the Monolophosaurus with an addition of that whipity-tail. Apparently the made-up genus is Acceraptor for all the fan-sites. I actually kinda like em but they seem a bit.... top-heavy. That is a weird neck for a made-up dinosaur.
Still, I like em. XD

Avatar is an obvious rip off of Fern Gully. Seriously. Look it up.

Sorry Cordy, but Avatar was so far from original in any form, that calling it the inspiration for a show without referencing everything that came before is moot. Maybe start with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Lost World" (not Michael Crichton's travesty of the same name).

Oh for crying out loud: Avatar was such a big hit, how can things not be influenced by the design-aesthetics in there? Note that it is design of the vehicles, not story. They are similar, not the same. If you don't like that it was possibly influenced in design by Avatar don't watch the show.
Y'know I'm quite pleased with the show. Now that I think about it more, I think that this show is going to succeed because it has a grand-scope of the setting. That's what I love. Knowing that the world is bigger than the immediate setting is just... glorious. Can't wait for next weeks episode! *already invested*
